SA BINGIT NG MASIGASIG NA ABOLISYON ( SK pt. 2)

Sangguniang kabataan
Abolisyon o reporma

English yun!!! TRAINING GROUND DAW OH.WAPPAK!!!! OUCH !! MASAKAT YUN AH.

Dahil may SAHOD.

frat wars

its so hard to explain FRATWARS here in the philippimes.to let you know i search for a forums that will illustrate it all..

WARS BETWEEN FRATERNITIES….
WHY CAN'T WE STOP?

Before I go further with this, let me extend my regards to all of you regardless of what Fraternity / Sorority you are from.
To start with, this just came to my mind. I could not find the right words but what are we fighting for? I also came from and still an active Member of one of the Fraternities in the Philippines. When I was young and just started to be involved in our activities (including troubles), I was always there to fight for us not thinking of what was the root why we are fighting. All we know is the other party is a rival frat and so are we to them. In my belief and as well as the others, anger between frats ignited because of the ego and pride. Each and every frat claims that they are the greatest and strongest and no other frat should stand front except them (this is including us). In these kinds of things, it is either someone got hurt from your own or the other way round. And the next thing is the never ending fights. Just to make this short, being a matured and a professional guy now, the big question mark which keeps running in my head is WHY? Have we forgotten or maybe we just don't know the true meaning of fraternity? It is BROTHERHOOD!! Yes it is. Brotherhood not only in a sense that it should only be applied internally in your own or our own organization. Why can't we treat the other frats as brothers and sisters like we treat our own? I know many of you who had a history of such fightings are feeling sorry whenever you are seeing or hearing that our youths now are battling the way we were doing during our days. Does it make you / us feel happy? Does it fulfill our goals? Does it help our struggling family? Is there something great or at least good thing happened? Did it help our drowning economy to breathe well? It is really clear that we are all strong because we are still here existing. Isn’t it enough? Why can't we use our strengths as one to make a change? We could use our dedications as one to make this big change happen. Because with the powers and strengths that we have, we can contribute a really great thing for the better. I know many of you who are reading this may think that I am some sort of crazy and insane, but try to look into the fact that I have got a point here. We had proven to ourselves that we are strong and powerful, so let us use the rest of it for the sake of us all. I know that this will take a long road to achieve, but it is better to run through it and reach the line than to roam around a never ending circle with no direction. Let us make a better youth, a better family and a better country.

AWAKENED FRATMAN
-TAU GAMMA PHI

Actually it's the primary goal of this forum, to bind and create an understanding between the differences which we had with other fraternities. Fraternities had already proven themselves in regard to pride, success and achievements but thinking of all our brother's and sister's whom had been a victim of this violence maybe we could stand up, speak out and take action on those changes which we want to apply. With proper guidance and orientation to our youth we could uphold the common goal of each and every frat man of our society.

Long Live Alpha Kappa Rho!
Long Live sa lahat ng FRAT MAN.
-ALPHA KAPPA RHO..

THIS IS FOR MY COMMENT ABOUT THIS   UNDYING ISSUE. THERE ARE REASONS WHY WE KEEP ON EXPERIENCING FRAT WARS. ACTUALLY OUR FRATERNITY IS ALSO A BLUE FRATERNITY BUT I AM NOT DENYING THAT WE WERE NOT INVOLVE IN OTHER FRAT WARS. BUT OTHER FRATS(I WILL NOT MENTION GREEKS BUT YOU KNOW YOURSELVES.) IT WILL START IN JUST 2 WORDS.."NUMBER ONE!" THEN OTHER COUNTER PART FRAT WILL REACT THEN AFTER A WHILE THE GAME PLAN IS DONE. BOOM BOOM BOOM BAAM...THERE'S A FIGHT!!!!!3 PEOPLE DEAD!!!
RESPECT!!!!!!!!!WE ARE GREEK FRATERNITIES..EVEN WE HAVE DIFFERENT PRINCIPLES WE ARE STILL MEETING ON THE HALFWAY!!ONE ATTITUDE!!!RESPECT!!!! TRY TO RESPECT EVERY FRATERNITY... YOU LOSE YOUR PRIDE WHEN YOU ENTERED YOUR NEOPHYTE PERIOD/.....REMOVE THE PRIDE IN YOUR HEAD...LEARN TO RESPECT....
GREEKS FRATERNITIES RESPECT....

different fraternities and sororities

i will post several fraternities here in my blog.its  up to you to decide what will you choose...

TAU GAMMA PHI/SIGMA

Move from the discovery of a problem and seeking viable solutions, and initiating purposeful action for personal, familial, vocational and community betterment prompted the action-group of RODRIGO STA. MARIA CONFESOR, ROY ALOLOR ORDINARIO, TALEK HAMIAS PABLO, VEDASTO SARIO VENIDA, RESTITUTO ALFONSO and ROMEO FORTES to form the ORDER OF THE U.P. TRISKELIONS. Initially however, this small group did not much influence the times and decisions within the university of that for a second time it was renamed ORDER OF THE GRAND TRISKELIONS. Finding a common bond of interests and principles, the so called group finally had identified the trend of the then fashionable among the studentry. Greek lettered organization which resulted to the renaming of the group to TAU GAMMA PHI Fraternity on that historical October 4, 1968 at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Convinced of the success of a unified endeavor, the founding fathers proved to be real pillars that was later manifested in the succeeding recognition of the fraternity.
Showing the public a discipline and collective determination and good examples, the fraternity got the attention and respect of the University of the Philippines body so that in the process an enlightened group of Bro. Jun Rodriguez took the leap-of-faith and forward to the TAU GAMMA PHI Fraternity in 1968 at Cavite – the first site of formal initiation. Under the leadership of Rodrigo Sta. maria confessor – the first Grand Triskelion, much influence and action came to the history of the fraternity which reached to the heights of gaining control of the College of Arts and Sciences (C.A.S.) student body. These years were trying times of political 1971 at the U.P. so that the fraternity founded their own political party which is named KAKASA. The (C.A.S.) at that time was the dominant college within the university with regards to the logic of numbers which therefore proved that the TAU GAMMA PHI is a group to reckon with.
Reaping the fruits of labor, discipline and confidence of the Diliman community, the Triskelion principles reverberated outside of the U.P. – Diliman which signalled the advancement of the fraternity found a new home is the Philippines Maritime Institute (P.M.I.) on August 3, 1969.
A few months later another group of student at the Feati University embraced the Tenets and principles of the Triskelion on March 5, 1970. following the success at the (P.M.I.) and Feati University, the fraternity explored at the Mapua Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) on April 1970, and later on was revive on December 2, 1973. following these development, a succession of the chapter foundation came the National University (N.U.) and readily found acceptance on October 23, 1970. Trying to find a Christian home the TAU GAMMA PHI was founded in the University of Santo Tomas (U.S.T.) on March 1, 1971, and Adamson University (Ad.U.) on July 8, 1973, and in that same year National College of Business Administration – Manila on October, 1973.

The year 1974 gave birth to the chapter at the University of the East – Manila (U.E. – Mla.) on January 21, at the Philippines School on Business Administration – Manila, at the Manuel Luis Quezon University (M.L.Q.U.) on October 8, and at the San Sebastian College (S.S.C.) on November 19,.
After the 3rd Regional Convention in 1975 at Narvaez Farm, Laguna. Another school embraced the Tenets and the Codes of Conduct of the fraternity, the Far Eastern University (F.E.U.) was founded on July 27, 1975, the 13th and only chapter found in that year. Then the succeeding chapter have been found, The Philippine College of Arts and Trade (P.C.A.T.), now the Technological University of the Philippines (T.U.P.) on February 22, 1976, the University of Manila (U.M.) on March 7, 1976, the Central Colleges of the Philippines (C.C.P.) on July 11, 1976, the Philippines College of Criminology (P.C.Cr.) on August 7, 1976, the Lyceum of the Philippines on August 15, 1976, the Gregorio Araneta University Foundation (G.A.U.F.) on October 15, 1976, the De Ocampo Memorial School (now D.O.M.C.) on August 30, 1977, the Eulogio “Amang Rodriguez Institute Science and Technology (E.A.R.I.S.T.) on March 19, 1978, the Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (P.A.T.T.S.) on September 5, 1978, the Philippine Merchant Marine School – Manila (P.M.M.S. – Mla.) on March 2, 1979, the Perpetual Help College of Rizal – Las Piñas on August 9, 1979, and so forth and so on.
Preceeding the declaration of Martial Law in 1972, it is noted that the spirit of advancing the cause of the studentry and social awareness in a unifying activity among the members of the fraternity and also of the various cause oriented groups. These times were brotherhood and nationalism is so intense made manifest the productive effort of the Triskelions.
Martial Law was declared on September 21, 1972, so that the fraternity and together with other organizations became the target of military harassment and espionage because the then government believe that these fraternities posed a threat to the order and stability of the Marcos regime. A lot of fraternities were infiltrated in order to divide the studentry politically and creates intrigues or even troubles to disorganized the unity and true essence of brotherhood.
Struggling from the effect of Martial Law which suspended all fraternity and organizational activity within the collegiate levels. Bro. Ramoncito “Monching” Ocampo, M.D.G. of U.P. Diliman took the trial initiative to explore and tap the younger generation of the studentry – the High School. This gave birth to the Junior TAU GAMMA PHI which found its home at San Beda College High School in 1975 where Bro. Boyet Gorospe was one of the founder. With enough courage and probability of inculcating further the vision of a Triskelion within the community and outside of the school campus, the Triskelion Youth Movement (T.Y.M.) was also founded in 1977 at one of the community in Tejeron, Paco, Manila.

The times which restricted movement and activity among the fraternity members made idle, their active minds and young bodies so that a new trend of competition and rivalry existed – the physical rivalry and dominance which resulted to the famous university rumbles. The rapid growth of the TAU GAMMA PHI was however taken as a threat and intimidation from among the older fraternities to that on August 3, 1978 one of our fraternity member, Bro. Hernando Guevarra was killed without much meaning. This event, however, though painful to accept was turned an opportunity for, it cemented further the solidarity and loyalty to each member Triskelion.
The lingering years of the Marcos government made a break among fraternities when the times again called the active involvement of the fraternity on various social protests and street parliamentarism. A new era dawned among the fratman for during these times it is seen that rumbles diminished and socio – political endeavor made centerpoint in the schedule of activities.
Living from the lesson of the past twenty – five years ago, today, the TAU GAMMA PHI now stands in the life of so many people in general and to the life of studentry in particular. Twenty – five long years ago now, the Triskelion spirits has helped shaped the socio – political and cultural landscape of the Philippine society in so manifestation – the famous campus rumbles, protest rallies, and collective social assistance to the public.
In the life the of the TAU GAMMA PHI, it is noted with pride that the time of crisis and had boldly decided and remedied so that for now the Triskelion lives and is moving towards a goal from a distance.

Alpha Phi Omega

Alpha Phi Omega (ΑΦΩ) (commonly known as APO,[3] but also A-Phi-O[4] and A-Phi-Q[5]) is the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States, with chapters at over 350 campuses, an active membership of approximately 17,000 students, and over 350,000 alumni members. There are also 250 chapters in the Philippines and one in Australia.
Alpha Phi Omega is a co-ed service fraternity organized to provide community service, leadership development,[6] and social opportunities for college students. Chapters range in size from a handful of active members to over 200 active members, independent of each college's size.
The purpose of the fraternity is "to assemble college students in a National Service Fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Scout Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship, and to provide Service to humanity; and to further the freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage."[7] Unlike many other fraternities, APO's primary focus is to provide volunteer service within four areas: service to the community, service to the campus, service to the fraternity, and service to the nation as participating citizens.[2] Being primarily a service organization, the fraternity restricts its chapters from maintaining fraternity houses to serve as residences for their members.[8] This also encourages members of social fraternities and sororities that have houses to join APO as well.
  1. What is APO ΑΦΩ Alpha Phi Omega?
Alpha Phi Omega is an international service fraternity and sorority, composed of college students gathered together in an organization based on fraternalism and founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. Its aim is to further the freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage. For over fifty years, we have set the standard for college campus-based volunteerism in the Philippines. Alpha Phi Omega or APO Philippines strives to help each member develop leadership skills, secure lasting friendships and provide service to others.
Alpha Phi Omega International (Philippines), Inc. is a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of this fraternity/sorority is to assemble college students in a national service fraternity/sorority in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Law of the Boy Scouts; to develop leadership, to promote friendship and to provide service to humanity; and to further freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage.
On 2 March 1950, Alpha Phi Omega International Service Fraternity was founded at Nicanor Reyes Sr. Hall, Room 214, FEU (Far Eastern University), Manila, Philippines.

  2. How large is APO ΑΦΩ Alpha Phi Omega?
APO is a very large organization. Nearly 300,000 members have been initiated since our founding in 1925. Our current membership exceeds 17,000 students at 350 colleges and universities. Originated in the U.S.A. it has expanded to other countries with chapters in the Phillipines, Australia, and Canada.
Since the inception of APO in 1969 in Zamboanga City, Philippines approximately 2,000 brothers and sisters have joined the 4 chapters here in Zamboanga City, Philippines.
  3. Who can join APO Philippines ΑΦΩ Alpha Phi Omega Philippines?
APO Zamboanga City  is open to any College student of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Universidad de Zamboanga, Southern City Colleges, and Western Mindanao State University, who would like to join.
If you are a college student anywhere in the Philippines and would like to join an Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, follow this link to verify if there is an APO organization in your college or university.

  4. Does that mean APO Philippines is for everyone?
Ideally, yes. However, that is something that you alone will decide. You do this by pledging for a period of time that each chapter requires. By pledging, you are not automatically committing to becoming a member. During this period, you learn about APO and decide whether or not you want to make this commitment and become initiated.
  5. How do I join APO Philippines ΑΦΩ Alpha Phil Omega Philippines?
To join a Chapter, you take a series of steps. Each chapter usually  have a  "Rush" period at the beginning of each semester. During this time, there are informational meetings and several opportunities to meet the members of the Chapter. The next step is to proceed through the Induction ceremony. This is when you officially become a "pledge" of APO. This period lasts 45 days. although, each chapter may change this length of time to meet the chapter's needs and demands. During this time, you learn about the history of APO and the standards that are expected of members, as well as participating in various service projects. At the end of this period, your completion of requirements will be reviewed by the Executive board, made up of the President, VP of Service, VP of Membership, VP of Communications, and VP of Finance, in coordination with the Pledge Trainers. You will then decide whether or not you wish to proceed and become initiated into APO. This is when you become an official member and brother/sister of Alpha Phi Omega.
  6. What can I expect of the pledge period?
During this time, you are expected to attend weekly Alpha Phi Omega pledge meetings, as well as a few active meetings. Since service is the core of the alpha phi omega fraternity, participation in service projects is mandatory of both active members and pledges. There will also be numerous social events and opportunities to meet the active brothers and sisters and perhaps some visiting alumni/alumnae. The period culminates in a service project designed and implemented by the pledge class.
  7. What is the policy of APO Philippines on hazing?
From the Alpha Phi Omega National Pledge Standards: "Absolutely no Hazing during pledging. An appropriate period of pledging has no place for hazing practices. These include the degradation of individuals, personal service demands, and any other practices inconsistent with the spirit and principles of Alpha Phi Omega.

Rationale: Alpha Phi Omega Members respect the worth of human dignity and, in firm support of our heritage of intellectual freedom, and we do not tolerate unequal or abusive treatment of any person."
Note: If you know there is HAZING going on, get your proof together: Names, dates, time, place, and detailed description of event. You can take this report to to a trusted APO "lord"/member or straight to the police.
  8. I just pledged this semester, can I run for an office next semester?
The answer to this question is a very emphatic YES! You can run for any appointed or elected officer position you desire. In fact, it is encouraged that you do so. Remember, Leadership is one of our Cardinal Principles.
  9. Scouting was the foundation of APO or Alpha Phi Omega. To quote Frank Reed Horton, Founder of APO "Through these experiences, I found that the Scout Oath and Law were what I had been seeking - a standard of manhood that would withstand the test of time and a code of ideals created and accepted by some of the greatest leaders the world has ever known. My purpose was to make Alpha Phi Omega an organization for college men who cooperated with all youth movements, especially Scouting."

ALPHA PHI OMEGA GOOD FRATERNITY
